- Tap Download the APK on your Android phone. Your browser may warn that this file type can harm your device. That warning appears for every APK. Choose Download anyway.
- Open the file from your notification shade, or from Files → Downloads.
- Android will say your browser is not allowed to install unknown apps. Tap Settings and turn on Allow from this source, then press back.
- Tap Install, then Open. If Play Protect asks, choose Install anyway: it flags anything not yet distributed through Google Play.

Is Loopa free?
Yes. Loopa Basic is free on both phones with no card at any point and no time limit: food logging by search, barcode, voice or a saved meal, plus weight, water, vitals, micronutrients, manual activity and progress photos. Premium is an optional subscription that adds the meal planner, photo food logging, fasting, the workout engine, device sync and exports.
Do I need an invitation or a code?
No. On iPhone and iPad, Loopa is a normal App Store download: tap Download on the App Store and install it the way you would any other app. On Android, tap Download the APK on this page. There is no waiting list, no invitation and no code on either platform.
Why is the Android app a direct download instead of Google Play?
Because the Google Play listing is still in review. Downloading the APK from this page installs the same build we ship there, so nothing is missing or cut down. Leave your email on this page and we will tell you the day the Play listing goes live.
Android says the file may harm my device. Is that normal?
Yes. Chrome shows that warning for every APK, whoever made it, because the browser cannot verify a file it did not get from a store. The same goes for Play Protect asking to scan the app after you tap Install. You can check the download yourself against the SHA-256 checksum printed on this page before you install it.
How do I know the download has not been tampered with?
Compare it against the SHA-256 checksum on this page. On a Mac or Linux machine, shasum -a 256 loopa-1.0.0-beta.apk prints the same string if the file is intact. The checksum is also published as a separate file next to the APK. If the two do not match, do not install it. Tell us instead.
Will I have to reinstall when Loopa reaches the Play Store?
Yes, once. This build is signed with our direct-download key rather than the one Google Play will use, and Android will not upgrade across different signing keys. You will uninstall this version and install the store one. Your account and everything in it live on our servers, so nothing you have logged is lost, you sign back in and it is all there.
What do I need to run it?
Android 8.0 or later for the APK, or iOS 18 or later from the App Store. Loopa runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch with the same account and no second purchase.
