Log a meal in ten seconds.
Type it in plain words, say it out loud, search a verified database, scan the barcode, or photograph the plate. However many meals a day you eat, and no ads at any point.
Search and barcode scanning: free, no cap · Typing and talking: free, 10 AI entries a day

What the free tier covers
Whichever is fastest at the time.
Logging fails when it is a chore, so Loopa gives you several doors into the same place and lets you use whichever one suits the meal in front of you.
Describe it the way you would to a person
“Chicken wrap and an iced latte.” That is a complete entry. Loopa reads the description, works out the likely portions, and fills in the calories and macros. You are not hunting through a database for the exact brand of wrap.
Free, 10/day- Plain-language entry, no rigid format to learn
- Portions estimated from what you wrote, and editable in a tap
- It tells you when it is estimating rather than quoting a label
- Free tier gives you 10 of these AI entries a day, shared with voice; search and barcode stay unlimited

Or just tell it out loud
Tap the mic and say “two eggs, toast and a flat white”. It goes through the same natural-language logger as typing, so you get the same confirm-before-it-saves list, you are talking to the log, not to an assistant that might have misheard you and saved it anyway.
Free, 10/day- A mic button beside the describe box on the web app
- In the phone apps, your keyboard’s own dictation key does the same job
- Always shows you what it heard before anything is saved
- Free, like typing, with the same 10-a-day AI allowance shared between them. Several trackers charge for this at all

A verified food database, on the free tier
Behind the search box is the fatsecret Platform API. Branded products, supermarket own-labels and restaurant items, with the nutrition panel that came off the packet. Free members get the whole thing, not a sample of it.
Free- Branded and own-label products, not just generic entries
- Set the portion in grams, ounces, cups or the pack’s own serving
- Anything you eat often is one tap to re-log
- The quick button is yours to arrange, keep the actions you use, put the rest away

Point the camera at it instead
Scan a barcode and the packet’s own numbers land in your log. Photograph a plate and Loopa comes back with a list, the chicken, the rice, the broccoli, each on its own line with its own portion. Adjust what is off, drop what is not yours, add what the photo missed. Nothing is logged until you say so.
Barcode: free Photo: Premium- Barcode scanning for anything that came in a wrapper, free, no cap
- Photo logging for anything that did not, Premium
- One line per food, with a running total that moves as you edit
- Change a portion in cups, slices, pieces, grams or ounces
- Anything Loopa is less sure about is marked, so you know where to look
- Each food lands as its own entry, editable on its own later

Every day you have logged is open again, and one tap from being tonight’s dinner
Pick a day on a calendar and see what you ate, grouped by meal. Open a meal to the individual foods with their quantities and macros. Move between days without going back to the calendar. Days you logged carry a marker, so finding the week you ate well takes a glance.
Premium- A calendar that marks the days you logged
- Copy a whole meal, or one food, onto any day (today by default)
- Land it in a different meal: last Tuesday’s lunch as tonight’s dinner
- Copying adds; the original stays and nothing already logged is replaced
- Build a saved meal out of foods picked across as many days as you like
- Exclude a food from the line it is on, with a reason if you want one

Last Tuesday’s lunch becomes tonight’s dinner
Pick the day, pick the meal it should land in, and the whole thing is on your plate again with the amounts you logged the first time. Leave the meal alone and it stays where it came from. A lunch stays a lunch.
Premium- A whole meal, or a single food, onto any day
- Any destination meal, from breakfast to post-workout
- Copying adds: the original stays and nothing already logged is replaced
- Volumes travel too, so a copied drink still counts toward your fluids
- The day’s totals update as it lands

Make a saved meal out of the food you already eat
Tick the foods you want from any meal in your history and start a draft. Add more from other days, or from the food database, the barcode scanner and your own custom foods. Change the quantities, drop what you do not want and name it. That makes it a saved meal, one tap to log from then on.
Saved meals: free Building from history: Premium- Pick from as many days as you like, and the draft follows you
- Mix history with search, the scanner and your own foods
- Edit every quantity and every macro before you save
- It becomes an ordinary saved meal, everywhere saved meals appear

Water in one tap, and every other liquid when you want it counted
Eight, twelve, sixteen or twenty-four ounces, or a custom amount. It lands against the daily target on your home screen immediately, and the 30-day trend builds itself. Free, like the rest of the daily basics.
Turn on Count all liquids and every drink you log counts toward the same daily goal (coffee, tea, milk and dairy alternatives, juice, soda, sports drinks and broth) whether you logged it on the water screen or as food. The liquid ingredients inside a saved meal count too, so the cup of milk in your protein shake is in the total. The ring is labelled Fluids when the setting is on and Water when it is off, so the number always says what it is measuring.
Beverages other than plain water contribute to total water intake, which is how the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine describe it in the Dietary Reference Intakes for Water, Potassium, Sodium, Chloride, and Sulfate. The setting is off by default, because a goal that quietly starts counting a latte is not the goal you set.
Sparkling water counts as water whether the setting is on or off, because it is water. Turning the setting back off returns the exact plain-water number you had. Nothing you logged is rewritten. And the breakdown under the ring shows what the total is made of, kind by kind, so you can always see where it came from.
Focus goes one step further. Pick up to three things to follow inside your total (a kind of drink, or one you saved yourself) and give each its own daily target. Watching your green tea while your goal counts everything, or your water while you keep an eye on the coffee, is the same screen either way. Focus is part of Premium.
Free- Preset sizes plus a custom amount
- Counts toward the fluid ring on the home screen
- Optional: count coffee, tea, milk, juice, soda, sports drinks and broth
- Liquid ingredients inside a saved meal count too
- A breakdown of what you drank, by kind
- 30-day trend on the free tier
- Focus targets are Premium

Fifteen micronutrients, filled in for you
Sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus and the vitamins, derived from food you already logged. You do not enter any of it separately. It is usually the part that explains why a week felt worse than the calorie total suggested it should.
Free, 5 estimates/day- Derived from your existing food log, not a second chore
- Daily and rolling views, with gaps called out
- Fiber and sodium alongside the headline macros
- Free tier gives you up to 5 fresh AI estimates a day

Let your devices do the typing
Apple Health and Health Connect sync both ways, so a weigh-in or a walk your phone already counted lands in Loopa without you opening it. Withings, Oura and iHealth connect directly to Loopa over their own accounts, you authorize once, and after that the readings arrive on their own, including while the app is closed.
Premium- Apple Health and Health Connect, in and out
- Withings scales. Weight and body composition, pushed to Loopa the moment you step off
- Oura rings. Sleep, readiness and activity, beside what you ate that day
- iHealth: blood pressure and glucose straight off the cuff or meter, no re-typing
- Connect once; disconnect any of them from your settings whenever you like

Fifteen widgets and an Apple Watch app
Fuel, water, weight, vitals, streak dots, a composite day view and a one-tap launcher, in the sizes iOS and Android each offer. The fasting timer runs as a Live Activity, so an open window sits on your lock screen instead of needing the app.
- Fifteen widgets on both iPhone and Android
- An Apple Watch app for logging from your wrist
- Fasting Live Activity on the iPhone lock screen

More on how Loopa works
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything people ask about getting food into Loopa.
Is food logging free in Loopa?
Yes. Searching the food database and scanning a barcode are free with no cap. Typing a meal in plain words or saying it out loud is free too, with an AI allowance of 10 entries a day, combined. However you log, there is no cap on how many meals a day you can add, once you have used your 10 AI entries, keep going with search or a barcode, and there are no ads. You keep a rolling 30 days of food history and trends on the free tier. Photo logging is Premium.
Can I just tell Loopa what I ate?
Yes, free, with an allowance of 10 AI meal entries a day shared with typing in plain words. On the web app there is a mic button next to the box where you describe your meal; in the phone apps your keyboard’s own dictation key does the same thing into the same box. Either way it runs through the same natural-language logger as typing, and it always shows you the list of what it heard before anything is saved. The mic button needs a browser with speech recognition. Chrome, Edge and Safari have it, and Loopa hides the button rather than showing a control that would not work.
Where does Loopa’s food data come from?
The food database is the fatsecret Platform API, which carries branded products, supermarket own-labels and restaurant items with the nutrition panel from the packet. When you describe a meal in words instead, Loopa estimates the portions and macros and labels the entry as an estimate, so you always know which is which.
How many meals a day can I log on the free tier?
As many as you eat. There is no daily cap on the free tier, not four, not six. If you graze across the day and log eleven things, all eleven are logged.
Does Loopa have a barcode scanner?
Yes, and it is a Premium feature. Scanning pulls the product’s own nutrition panel rather than an estimate, so it is the most accurate way to log anything that came in a wrapper.
Can Loopa work out a meal from a photo?
On Premium, yes. Photograph the plate and Loopa comes back with a list, one line per food, each with its own portion, its own calories and its macros. Adjust a portion, rename a food, remove anything that is not yours, and add whatever the photo missed. A running total shows what you are about to log, and nothing reaches your food log until you tap Log meal. Calorie and macro figures read from a photograph are estimates you confirm, and Loopa marks the ones it is least sure about.
Does Loopa sync with Apple Health or Health Connect?
Yes, both, in both directions, as a Premium feature.
Which fitness devices does Loopa connect to?
Three directly, over their own accounts, as Premium features: Withings scales for weight and body composition, Oura rings for sleep, readiness and activity, and iHealth for blood pressure and glucose. You authorize each one once and the readings arrive on their own after that, including while the app is closed. Withings pushes updates to Loopa as they happen. Anything else that writes to Apple Health or Health Connect reaches Loopa through those instead. You can disconnect any of them from your settings.
Does Loopa track micronutrients?
Fifteen of them, free. Sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus and the vitamins. Derived from the food you already logged, with up to 5 fresh AI estimates a day, so there is nothing extra to enter.
What drinks count toward my water goal in Loopa?
Plain water always, still or sparkling. Turn on Count all liquids and coffee, tea, herbal tea, milk and dairy alternatives, juice, soda, sports drinks and broth count too. Whether you logged them on the water screen or as food, including the liquid ingredients inside a saved meal. Beverages other than plain water contribute to total water intake, as described in the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Dietary Reference Intakes for Water, Potassium, Sodium, Chloride, and Sulfate. The setting is off by default, so the goal means plain water until you decide otherwise, and turning it back off restores the exact plain-water number. The breakdown under the ring always shows what the total is made of, kind by kind.
