Loopa vs Lose It!

Lose It! just doubled its yearly price and withdrew the monthly plan entirely. Loopa is $12.99 a month, cancel any time, and $119.99 a year covers up to six people instead of one.

Loopa Premium is $12.99 a month or $69.99 a year, and you can stop at the end of any month. Before that, the free tier carries no ads, no cap on meals, free barcode scanning and thirty days of history and trends. Enough to decide whether you want to pay us anything at all.

Lose It! has moved the other way. Reading their own Membership Tiers & Pricing article, Premium is now $79.99 a year, and it is the only recurring plan they sell: the monthly subscription has been withdrawn. Past the trial there is no way to pay month to month. The commitment is a full year, up front, for an app you have used for a week.

The gap widens across a household. Lose It! states plainly that they do not support Apple Family Sharing for Premium, and subscriptions are tied to individual accounts and cannot be transferred or gifted. Four people is four subscriptions, $319.96 a year. Loopa Premium Family is $119.99 for up to six, on Android as well as iPhone.

And Loopa does more once you are in. Meal planning that ends in one combined shopping list, built around what is already in your kitchen. Blood pressure, glucose and INR. Intermittent fasting with a live timer on the lock screen. Restaurant picks from a photographed menu. None of that is on their list.

Six things you get in Loopa that Lose It! does not sell

  • A monthly plan at all. $12.99, cancel whenever. Their monthly option no longer exists, it is $79.99 a year or nothing.
  • A free tier with no ads, and free barcode scanning, where theirs is Premium for new sign-ups.
  • One subscription for six people. $119.99 a year across both phones. They do not share Premium across a household at all.
  • Meal plans that end in one shopping list, built around the food already in your kitchen.
  • Health past calories. Blood pressure, blood glucose, temperature and INR for people on blood thinners.
  • Intermittent fasting with a live timer on the iPhone lock screen and an explanation of each stage.

FAQ

The questions this comparison raises

How much does Lose It! Premium cost now?

$79.99 a year, and that is the only recurring plan. Lose It! no longer sells a monthly subscription. Their own Membership Tiers & Pricing article, read 17 August 2026, lists Basic at $0 and Premium at $79.99 a year, auto-renewing annually. They also offer a one-off Lifetime purchase at $299.99, or $229.99 if you are already an active Premium member.

Can I still pay for Lose It! monthly?

No. The monthly plan has been withdrawn. Their pricing article lists only the free Basic tier, the $79.99 annual Premium subscription and the one-off Lifetime purchase. A free trial is the only way to use Premium without committing to a full year. Loopa Premium is still $12.99 a month if you would rather not commit twelve months to an app you have used for a week.

Is Loopa cheaper than Lose It!?

Yes, and the gap widens the more people you are covering. Loopa Premium is $69.99 a year against their $79.99, and $12.99 a month if you would rather not commit a year at all, an option they no longer offer. For a household it is not close: four people on Lose It! is four separate subscriptions at $319.96, since they state they do not support Apple Family Sharing and subscriptions cannot be transferred or gifted. Loopa Premium Family is $119.99 for up to six.

What does Loopa do that Lose It! does not?

Meal planning that ends in one combined shopping list, built around what is already in your kitchen. Health tracking past calories, free: blood pressure, glucose, temperature and INR. Intermittent fasting with a live timer. A restaurant mode that reads a photographed menu. A family plan. And free barcode scanning, which is Premium on their side.

How do I switch from Lose It! to Loopa?

Install it and log your next meal. Anything already in Apple Health or Health Connect. Weight and activity in particular. Flows into Loopa by itself, because it reads from both, so your existing history keeps working immediately. The setup interview works out your targets in a couple of minutes and your first trend line appears within the week.

Which should I pick?

Loopa, if you would rather not commit $79.99 up front for a year of an app you have used for a week. You get a free tier with no ads and free barcode scanning, $12.99 a month if you do subscribe, meal plans that end in one shopping list, fasting with a live timer, blood pressure, glucose and INR, and $119.99 a year covering up to six people across Android and iPhone. It is free to start with no card.

Not ready to commit a year?

Loopa is free to start, no card, and month to month if you ever do subscribe.
