Habits, built the way habits actually form

H³ is built on the habit-formation research Lally and colleagues published in the European Journal of Social Psychology (2010) rather than on streak pressure. You name the outcome you want, the cue you will hang it on, and up to ten micro-goals. Then you check in once a day and say how automatic it felt.

How H³ works

Formation, not streak pressure.

You name the outcome, the cue you will hang it on, and up to ten micro-goals. Then you check in once a day and say how automatic it felt, and the app plots that against the median 66-day automaticity curve from that study instead of counting how many days you have not failed.

Five habits, and that is the point

Five active at a time, ten micro-goals each. The cap is the feature: the failure mode of every habit app is twenty good intentions and no attention left for any of them.

Anchored to a cue, not to a time

Each micro-goal hangs off something that already happens in your day. That is the mechanism the research points at, and it is the part most trackers leave out.

The curve, with the plateau marked

Your automaticity score is plotted against the median 66-day curve from Lally and colleagues, with the plateau drawn as a dashed line, so you can see whether you are early rather than failing. Individual times in that study ran from 18 to 254 days, so the line is a reference rather than a deadline.

A missed day is a gap

The 14-day strip shows a miss as a gap and carries on. Nothing resets to zero, because a streak counter turns one bad Tuesday into a reason to stop.

Graduate, do not just stop

When something is automatic you graduate it. The record stays and the active slot frees up for the next one.

The AI is optional

A guided wizard can walk you from outcome to cue to micro-goals if you want it. Every part of H³ works with it switched off, because it is the same code path underneath.

Common questions

Why only five habits?

Because attention is the scarce resource, not ambition. Five active habits with ten micro-goals each is already more structure than most people sustain, and a cap you can feel does more for you than an empty list that quietly guarantees failure.

What is the 66 days about?

It is the median time to automaticity in the study Lally and colleagues published in the European Journal of Social Psychology (2010), not a promise. The range in that research is very wide: the time to reach 95% of individual automaticity ran from 18 days to 254. Loopa draws the median as a reference line so you can see where you are on the curve rather than wondering whether it should have clicked by now.

Does missing a day undo my progress?

No. There is no streak to break. The trajectory strip shows the gap and carries on, and the completion rate is measured over 30 days so one bad week is visible without being fatal.

Can I back-date a check-in?

Yes, within 30 days.
