Cycle tracking, without the false confidence

Log flow, symptoms and a note. Loopa works out your average length, your phase and your likely next start, and draws a fertile window that widens when your cycles vary. It is opt-in, it is encrypted, and it is not contraception.

The Loopa cycle screen on iPhone, showing the current phase, the next period estimate and the month calendar
What it tracks

The cycle, beside the food and the weight.

Period, flow and symptoms, with the phase and the next-period estimate derived from your own history rather than a textbook 28 days. It sits in the same app as everything else, because the two explain each other.

Off unless you turn it on

Cycle tracking is opt-in in settings. With it off the tab is not in your navigation and the page is not reachable, because a tracker nobody asked for is not a neutral default.

Flow, symptoms and a note

Five flow levels, ten symptoms from a fixed list, and 500 characters of your own words. Any past day can be filled in, so a period you did not log at the time is not lost.

Predictions that need two cycles

Loopa needs two logged starts before it will predict anything. Below that it says so rather than extrapolating from one data point.

A fertile window that admits doubt

The window widens with your own variability. Past a week of spread it stops drawing one at all and tells you why, because six confident days that are wrong are worse than no days.

A calculator that works on day one

Three answers and you get six projected cycles without logging anything first. It runs on your device and stores nothing.

Your coach sees a date, not a diary

The AI coach never receives cycle data at all. A human Loopa Coach sees it only if you switch that field on, and what they get is the date you last logged, never what you logged.

Common questions

Is this contraception?

No. Calendar arithmetic cannot pinpoint ovulation: Johnson, Marriott and Zinaman tested cycle apps against hormone-confirmed ovulation in 949 women and reported accuracy “no better than 21%” in Current Medical Research and Opinion (2018). That is why the fertile window here widens with your variability and disappears when your own data cannot support one. Do not use it to prevent or plan a pregnancy.

Who can see my cycle data?

You, by default, and nobody else. The AI coach never receives it. A human coach receives it only if you grant that specific field, and even then they see the date you last logged and not the contents. Turning the grant off cuts their access to the history too, not just to what comes next.

What if my cycles are irregular?

You still get the log, the phase and the history. What you will not get is a confident fertile window, because with a wide spread there is not one to give. Loopa also flags a cycle length outside the 24-to-38-day range the FIGO definitions of normal menstrual bleeding call normal as worth mentioning to a doctor, which is a prompt and not a diagnosis.

Do I have to log every day?

No. Log the days that matter and backfill the rest whenever. The start-detection works off gaps, not off unbroken records.
