The trend, not the daily noise.
Your weight moves a couple of pounds because of fluid, and salt intake is one of the things that moves it, Bie, reviewing sodium and water regulation in the American Journal of Physiology (2018), puts the half-time of the shift to a new steady state at roughly 21 hours. A seven-day average moves because something actually changed. Loopa charts both, and tells you which is which.
Weight tracking with a 30-day trend is free · No card

Six ways to see it moving.
The scale is the loudest signal and the least reliable one. These are the others, and a clear read on what they add up to.
Every weigh-in, plus the line that matters
Each reading is plotted, and over the top of it runs a seven-day average and your goal line. On a week where the scale went up twice and down three times, the average tells you what actually happened. Free, with a rolling 30 days.
Free- Every weigh-in, with a seven-day average over it
- Your goal line and where today’s pace lands you
- Free on the free tier, with 30 days of history

A goal date it will refuse to promise
Most apps take your deficit, divide, and print a date. That date assumes you lose at the same rate at 180 pounds as at 240, which is not how it works. Loopa’s forecast decelerates as you lean out, shows a plateau when the math says plateau, and declines to give a date at all if it cannot be reached safely. What If lets you change the inputs and watch the date move before you commit.
Premium- Built from your real rate of change, not a formula on day one
- Decelerates as you get leaner, because that is what happens
- Says “plateau” when it is a plateau
- Refuses a date it cannot reach safely, rather than flattering you
- What If: change the inputs, watch the date move

A tape measure you can actually read
Waist, chest, hips, thigh, arm and neck, entered on a ruler you drag rather than a number pad, down to an eighth of an inch. Body fat is estimated from your own measurements, and Loopa names the formula and the paper it came from rather than presenting a number from nowhere.
Premium- Six sites, on a draggable ruler
- Down to an eighth of an inch
- Body fat estimated from your numbers, with the formula named
- The changes a flat week on the scale hides

Private, and actually private
Progress photos are encrypted to your own account. No coach, no admin, no other member can open them. There is no internal view that shows them. Line any two dates up side by side, and share a comparison only if you decide to.
Premium- Encrypted against your account, not pooled
- No admin or coach access, by construction
- Compare any two dates side by side
- Nothing leaves your phone unless you send it

Movement, without a program to abandon
Steps and active minutes in two taps, or log a walk, run, ride, swim, lift or yoga session properly. There is no twelve-week program to fall behind on. Stuck for ideas, it will suggest five things that fit the day you have actually had rather than the day a template assumed.
Premium- Steps and active minutes in two taps
- Walks, runs, rides, swims, lifting and yoga
- Burn counted against your day
- Suggestions based on the day you have actually had

A plain-English read on your month
Seven, thirty or ninety days, or a range you pick. What moved, what did not, what the data is still too thin to say anything about, and the one or two things worth changing next. Export the whole thing as a PDF for a doctor, or as CSV for yourself.
Premium- 7, 30, 90 days or a custom range
- Says when the data is too thin to conclude anything
- PDF export a clinician can actually read
- CSV export of everything, not a summary

Frequently Asked Questions
What people ask about measuring progress accurately.
Is weight tracking free?
Yes. Logging your weight and seeing a 30-day trend with a seven-day average costs nothing, with no card and no ads. The forecast, body measurements, progress photos and history older than 30 days are Premium.
Why does Loopa show a seven-day average?
Because a single weigh-in is mostly water, salt and timing. Day to day the scale moves for reasons that have nothing to do with fat, and reacting to that is how people talk themselves out of a plan that is working. The average is the line that actually tracks change.
How accurate is the weight forecast?
It is built from your own rate of change rather than a formula applied on day one, and it recalculates as you log. More importantly, it is built to track reality rather than to encourage. It decelerates as you go, because that is what Hall and Kahan describe in the Medical Clinics of North America (2018): expenditure falls as you get lighter and appetite rises, so the same plan produces a smaller deficit over time. It will show a plateau as a plateau. And if a target cannot be reached in the time you have asked for at the 1 to 2 lb a week the NHS guidance on losing weight describes, it declines to give a date rather than printing a flattering one.
Who can see my progress photos?
Only you. They are encrypted against your own account, and there is no coach view, admin view or moderator view that can open them. If you want to share a before-and-after, you build that comparison yourself and choose to send it.
What happens to my old data on the free tier?
Nothing, it is kept, not deleted. The free tier shows a rolling 30-day window. If you upgrade later, every chart and trend extends back to your first entry, because the data was there the whole time.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Premium exports everything you have logged as CSV, and reports as PDF. It is your data and there is no export fee or waiting period.
Does Loopa estimate body fat percentage?
It estimates it from your own measurements, and it names the formula and the paper behind the estimate rather than presenting a figure from nowhere. It is an estimate from a tape measure, and Loopa says so.
