§ On the web app there is a mic button next to the
“describe what you ate” box, and in the phone apps you use your keyboard’s own dictation key into
the same box. Both feed the same natural-language logger, and neither costs anything, with a free-tier
allowance of 10 of these AI entries a day, search, barcode scanning and manual entry stay unlimited
throughout. The mic button needs a browser with speech recognition. Chrome, Edge and Safari have it, and
Loopa hides the button rather than showing a dead control where it does not.
¹ Fitia’s free and Premium split is taken from their own
Free vs Premium page, read 13 August 2026.
That page lists photo, voice and text logging, barcode scanning, the verified database in full, Apple and Google
Health sync, meal planning, shopping lists, intermittent fasting, progress tracking beyond weight, and
“Ad Free” as Premium features; it caps the free tier at four meals a day and limited database access.
² Not offered as far as we can tell. Fitia’s own Premium page enumerates their feature set and none of
these appear on it. If that is wrong, tell us and we will correct the row.
³ Fitia prices from the US App Store listing, read 13 August 2026: $19.99 monthly, $23.99 for three months,
$35.99 for six, $59.99 a year, and a separate Fitia Premium (Family) plan at $89.99 a year. Since 2026-08-16 ours
is also a distinct product. Loopa Premium Family, $19.99 a month or $119.99 a year for up to six people, so it is plan against plan: theirs is $30 a year cheaper, ours covers six and reaches Android.
† Four people on Loopa is one $119.99 Loopa Premium Family plan, which covers up to six. Fitia’s
figure is their Family plan. MyFitnessPal, Lose It! and Cronometer do not share a subscription across a family, so
four people is four subscriptions at the yearly price in the row above.
Subscription-sharing support checked 9 August 2026: MyFitnessPal and Cronometer both state their subscriptions are
per account, and Lose It! has said Premium is not shareable via Family Subscriptions and would announce it in
their App Store listing if that changed.
* Lose It! barcode scanning is free on legacy accounts and Premium for new sign-ups. Lose It! no longer sells a
monthly subscription: their own Membership Tiers & Pricing article, read 17 August 2026, lists Basic at $0 and
Premium at $79.99 a year as the only recurring plan, plus a one-off Lifetime at $299.99 ($229.99 for existing
Premium members). That article also states they do not support Apple Family Sharing for Premium.
Every price in this table was re-checked against the competitor's own page on
2 September 2026 and none had moved: MyFitnessPal Premium $19.99 monthly and $79.99 a year with
Premium+ at $24.99 and $99.99, Lose It! Premium $79.99 a year with no monthly plan, Cronometer Gold $10.99
monthly and $59.99 a year with no family plan of any kind, Fitia $19.99 monthly, $59.99 a year and $89.99 for a
family of six, and Noom $209 for twelve months.
MyFitnessPal, Lose It! and Cronometer prices and tiers were re-checked before that on 17 August 2026, when two had moved since the
4 August check: Cronometer Gold went from $8.99 to $10.99 monthly and $49.99 to $59.99 yearly, and Lose It!
Premium went from $39.99 to $79.99 a year with the monthly plan withdrawn. MyFitnessPal Premium is unchanged at
$19.99 and $79.99; their separate Premium+ tier, which is the one that carries the meal planner, is $24.99 a
month or $99.99 a year. Prices change often. Check for

Head-to-head, and our own tiers
Questions about switching
Including the one where we tell you not to bother.
Which calorie tracker has the best free tier?
On the rows we checked, Loopa: no ads, no cap on meals per day, the full food database, and a rolling 30 days of history. Several competitors put every logging method behind the subscription, show ads on the free tier, or keep only seven days of history. The table above has the detail and the dates each row was checked.
Which one is cheapest for a family?
Loopa and Fitia are the only two that sell a family plan, and Fitia’s is $89.99 a year against our $119.99. Ours covers up to six people rather than four, works out at about $20.00 each at that size, and reaches Android phones as well as iPhones, because a Loopa Family Group is our own system rather than an App Store feature. MyFitnessPal, Lose It! and Cronometer do not share across a family at all, so four people means four subscriptions, $319.96, $319.96 and $239.96 respectively, and six people means six. Lose It! says so in as many words: they do not support Apple Family Sharing for Premium.
Which trackers handle blood pressure, glucose or INR?
Cronometer Gold tracks blood pressure and glucose. Loopa tracks blood pressure, glucose, SpO2, temperature and INR. INR being the one for people on warfarin, which nothing else in this comparison records. MyFitnessPal, Lose It! and Fitia do not offer these as far as we can tell from their own feature listings.
Is this comparison fair?
Yes. Every row is read off that competitor's own page or App Store listing and carries the date it was checked, so you can verify any of it yourself in a few minutes. If one is wrong, email us and we will change it.
Where did these prices come from?
Each competitor's own site, help center or US App Store listing, on the date in the footnotes: 17 August 2026 for MyFitnessPal, Lose It! and Cronometer prices, 9 August 2026 for subscription-sharing support, and 13 August 2026 for Fitia. Two of those moved at the 17 August check. Cronometer put Gold up, and Lose It! doubled the yearly price and stopped selling a monthly plan at all. App pricing changes often, so check for yourself before you buy, the links are in the notes.
Should I switch?
Only if a row in that table is one you actually care about. If you are happy in another app and it does what you need, staying put is a perfectly good answer. Loopa is free to try with no card, so the cost of finding out is an evening.
