Not at sign-up, once they have confirmed their email address and finished setting up. Anyone mid-setup is shown to you as still setting up, which is the answer to “I invited five people and it says one.”

Questions people ask
What do I get for referring someone?
A badge, at each of nine milestones: one friend, then five, ten, twenty, forty, fifty, one hundred, two hundred and fifty and five hundred. That is the complete list. There is no Premium time, no credit, no discount, no cash and no prize draw. Referring somebody is a way of telling a friend about Loopa, not a way of earning from them.
Does my friend get a discount?
No, and neither do you. Their trial, their subscription and what they pay are exactly what they would have been without the code. Nothing about being invited changes anybody’s price.
I invited five people and it says one. Why?
A friend counts once they have confirmed their email address and finished setting up. The other four started and stopped, and the screen shows them as still setting up until they finish. The number always means people who are actually using Loopa.
Does Loopa read my contacts to send an invite?
No. There is no address-book permission in either app. Sending an invite hands the message to whichever mail or chat app you chose, you pick the recipient there, and Loopa never learns who it was.
Do I need Premium to refer someone?
No. Invite codes, the Refer a Friend screen, entering a code and every referral badge are available to every signed-in member on the free tier. Food, weight and water logging with 30 days of trends is free forever, with no ads.
Can I add a code to an account I already have?
Only if it is less than a week old and has never had one. A code cannot be applied to your own account, to an account that already has one, or to an account older than that.
Will you tell me who used my code?
No. You see how many people have joined through it, never which people. Your friend is told nothing about you either, beyond what you wrote in the invite yourself.
